Enrollment in each month's training course is limited to 25 participants on the learning platform at any one time. Access to the course platform  will be granted after payment is received for your event start date. The course must be completed (and final graduating test taken) within 30 days from the date/time of first login access, unless other arrangements are established.

* Graduates who have successfully completed the EMF Expertise in Action course will be given future study-credit towards certification qualification, however they must enroll in the EMF Certification Training course within 12 months in order to also receive the tuition credit (75%  of the cost of EMF Expertise in Action training will be credited) from the full tuition of the certification training course. Plus, the EMF Expertise In Action training "Award of Completion" must be attained in order to obtain credit for future certification.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Qualifies Me to Receive my "Award of Completion"?  

The self-guided EMF Expertise in Action course is comprised of ten 1-hour video lessons (with download supporting material for each lesson), and following the last lesson in the  training an optional open-book test is offered online and can be taken anytime before the end of the training-month. The final test is optional, and Students can opt to skip it entirely, however only those student who complete the test with a passing grade of 70%  will be awarded with the Award of Completion  certificate. Passing this course is also a necessary in order to obtain credit towards certification courses at a later time. This printer friendly certificate will be delivered to you by email, after the final test results have been reviewed by the course instructor, Chris Young, or his associate instructor. 

How does this training differ from the certification course?

The Self Guided EMF Expertise in Action training is self-paced online whereas the certification classes are held on a learning platform at a regularly scheduled date and time. Although the training curriculum for both courses is very similar, the big difference is that   the certification course was designed to graduate students wanting credentials to become professional EMF Consultants so the training content goes into much more depth, and includes field work, hands-on assignments, quizzes, tests, reports and interactive class discussion, and unlimited one-on-one access to the instructor. 

Why must I wait for the "next available" EMF Expertise in Action Training course in the Events Calendar, if this is self guided online training?

The Self-Guided training is open to 25 students per course; one course is offered each month. New students can access the training online on the first day of the month and must be finished watching the videos and downloading all training material by the 30th of each month. Training is designed to be completed in the month for which the student enrolled- and so when that month's seats are filled with registered/paid students a new course/month is opened up to accommodate new student registrations.  This 25 per course/month limit is mainly due to the fact that this user-friendly course is delivered in powerpoint lessons by video, and the video training server can handle up to 25 viewers streaming (large bandwidth demand) at the same time. We also limit the students so that the final exams can be marked by the instructor and personal attention paid to your successful progress and completion attainment.

What happens if I do not finish the self guided training within that month?

Although it is possible for a student to request an extension, this has never happened.  Ten 1-hour lessons completed within 30 days is  very do-able. The course is comprised of ten 1-hour video lessons (with download supporting material for each lesson) with an optional final test, which can be taken anytime before the end of the month. Typically, students pace themselves around their own schedule, for example, one lesson every 3 days (such as Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday). However we have had students who have completed the entire course in a single weekend, or even a single day.

Will I need to buy any equipment for this course?

We recommend purchasing the EMF meters that your training videos will demonstrate to you, as you learn EMF meter measurement methods to investigate your environment to assess your EMF exposure levels, however you are free to use any meters that you already have, or none at all. Approximate cost of the two recommended meters is $300 - $500.  We also recommend books, videos, shielding material to protect from EMF etc., which are all optional purchases for your use during and after training.

Will I be included in the EMF Professional Directory  (like Certified graduates are) when I have achieved the Award of Completion ?

Yes, upon request, you can be included as an EMF Specialist (a non-certified designation), which will enable you to offer such  things as writing/blogging services for EMF topics, Electrosensitivity support group leader, products that help technology consumers protect from EMF, and many other non-certified  types of expertise and services.
